OLIVER ESTAVILLO Oliver Estavillo was born 1964 as son of an American soldier and a German mother in Fulda / Germany. Since his early childhood days his natural artistic talent was discovered. He was an autodidact. He developed his skills continuously without a teacher inspired by examples. All important painting techniques, especially his preferred technique of oil on canvas, he learned for many years in his self-study as well. Estavillo's artwork is inspired by his everyday live, bizarre neighbours, individual experiences, serial killers, boring aunts and sometimes shrill parties with crazy colleagues and friends. From 1986 he lives and works in Munich, and from 2006 he works exclusively as a freelance artist. Oliver Estavillo, whom the critics call the "Pop-Brueghel" and just recently "The Tarantino of Painting", shows in his large, technically complex and detailed oil on canvas tableaus the madness, vulgarity and the unlimited greed of his contemporaries. Picture titles like ' Combustion Of Bankers', 'The Forgotten Saints' or 'Shark-Society' speak for themselves. His paintings have found many enthusiastic admirers and buyers at his many exhibitions in Munich, Cologne, Berlin, Madrid and in his latest exhibition "Shark-Society" at Vonderau Museum in Fulda. |
