Description of Sculpture:
This is an original bronze portrait, twice life-size, crafted from a live model. It is an exact likeness of the subject, as can be seen from the photographs. Artist will consider commissions for portraits of this size, and Artist can work from photographs. The patina is a classic black potash.

Artist's Interpretation:
“I created this large portrait from a live model. An old Russian sailor with a most interesting face who, with his weather-beaten leathery skin and short stubbly beard, looked strikingly similar to the old Cuban fisherman who inspired Hemingway to write his Nobel Prize-winning novel: ‘The Old Man and the Sea'. Accordingly, I named the sculpture ‘OLD SALT .”
