According to legend, the sculpture depicts Yermak's meeting with a five-legged black wolf in front of Siberia. Departing from the legend, the author of the idea and investor of the project Roman Trotsenko decided to put Ermak on a horse with five legs. So, in his opinion, Ermak was able to resist death and preserve the memory of himself forever.
