In May 2007 Jamie McCartney created this artwork whilst sailing across the Atlantic Ocean. He threw 3 bottles into the sea on 3 consecutive days as he approached the Azores. Each bottle contained a message and half a $20 bill with instructions to return the bottle to him and claim $100. Photos of the bottles and the $100 were placed in frames with the words "This sculpture isn't finished yet' written across them. A year and a half later one bottle was returned to him and the first sculpture was completed. Five a half years later the second bottle turned up... "When you throw something into the middle of an Ocean, you really don't expect to hold it in your hands ever again. I'm amazed and delighted that with the help of a stranger the artwork was completed. It's really wonderful. I feel like a castaway who has been found."
